a few months ago Yuck announced the unexpected news of front-man Daniel Blumberg’s departure admittedly worried felt an understatement. However ‘Rebirth’ ushers in a promising new era for the band, with Max Bloom stepping into the limelight, in all honesty his vocals don’t feel that indifferent to his old band-mate. While the track doesn’t carry the stifling guitars of ‘Get Away’ or the tearful strains of ‘Suicide Policeman’ it provides enough enigma to keep us biding our time in wait for album number two – which just so happens to be on the way this Autumn.

The much anticipated second album will arrive later this year on Pharmacy Recording Co/ Fat Possum. Produced by Chris Coady (Beach House, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TV On the Radio), it is bound to be one of the most treasured new albums of the year.
