Pupils from schools in the Southwark area will be pitching up stalls at Borough Market for the annual Young Marketeers’ Winter Sale, where they’ll be selling their own waste-free homemade soups and freshly baked bread, with money raised at the sale going to food charity FareShare. The programme is all about teaching kids about cookery, food waste and entrepreneurial skills – they visited FareShare’s London depot to learn about surplus food before collecting veg to make their own soups to sell. so forget the supermarket meal deal and go pick up your lunch from the kids instead.
