Set inside a Grade II-listed townhouse on Queen Street, it’s the kind of salon where the lighting is flattering, the interiors whisper quiet luxury, and you immediately start wondering whether your life should, in fact, involve more regular facials and a standing blow-dry appointment.
Founded by Marcos Verissimo, whose career has taken him from major salon names to the Oscars and Cannes red carpet, The Six is built around the idea that beauty should feel indulgent rather than functional. And it does. Spread across six floors, the townhouse offers hair, nails, skin, massage and grooming all under one very elegant roof. There’s a private salon upstairs, plush treatment rooms, a dedicated men’s floor and an area that specialises in foot health.
But it’s not just a pretty face. The Six has the sort of team that makes you sit up a bit straighter in the chair. Colour, cuts, styling, extensions, grooming, brows, nails, massage – everyone has a lane.
And then there’s Marcos, who, from the pictures I showed him as I tried to explain what I wanted, cut through it all and said, “You want it to look sexier.” Reader, he was right. I left with a sexy haircut, advice on how to style it and, what’s more, a cut that actually looked like the references I had shared.
