After nearly a decade away, the immersive theatre phenomenon has announced new shows
Kate Bond and Morgan Lloyd have been performing as You Me Bum Bum Train (YMBBT) to a growing and loyal fan base since 2004, but they sort of disappeared off the face of the Earth after their last show in 2016. Two Olympics, a pandemic and about 100 Prime Ministers later, the duo is returning with a season of West End shows this November – and it promises to be just as surreal, joyous and mind-bending as ever.
Early adopters of the immersive theatre movement, YMBBT takes the audience (or ‘Passengers’) on a journey through various participatory scenes and fantasies. If that sounds vague, it’s because it is. The secrecy around what actually goes on during the show is a big part of the experience, so anyone watching will react authentically. In fact, Passengers are asked to sign an NDA preventing them from sharing the details.
While anyone new to the production won’t know exactly what they’re in for, they can expect something pretty special – that’s if the rave reviews and 120,000-person queues for tickets are anything to go by. If you’re hoping to see it for yourself, a ballot for tickets will go live at 10am on Tues 3rd September – join the mailing list below to be among the first to get the link.
