East meets west at Yen Burger, the new restaurant from Yen Nguyen opening in Borough at the end of the month. Burgers, made from Aberdeen Angus, Wagyu beef, cod or veggies, will be the star of the show with Bread Ahead providing the buns, but they’ll all have a healthier, Asian twist when it comes to toppings and sides. You’ll be able to add the likes of shiso, kimchi mayo and Japanese chilli to your burgers and complete your meals with sweet potato fries, Asian coleslaw and edamame beans. The Asian influence extends to the drinks list, with ingredients like kumquat and calpis (a milk-based Japanese soft drink) going into the cocktails. Sounds like this is the place to go if you want something a little different from a cheeseburger and a beer.
