yamagoya to open in soho

Japanese restaurant Yamagoya – which brought that raindrop cake to London last year – is opening up a perm spot in Soho this December. Taking over the ground floor of Shuang Shuang (the hot pot restaurant will relocate upstairs), Yamagoya will serve up a range of ramens, including the signature chashu pork tonkotsu, a chicken bone broth with chicken chashu and a a roast beef ramen with rare beef, leek and spring onion that founder Masatoshi Ogatahas has created especially for the new site.

The menu will also feature pork gyoza, chicken kara-age, don rice bowls, cold ramen salads, vegan curry rice with fried veggies and pickled greens, and of course, that famous raindrop cake.

If you’re sitting in, we reckon the kitchen counter will be the best seats in the house as you’ll be able to watch the chefs at work, but Yamagoya will also have grab-and-go options if you’re on the clock.

Opens Sat 15th December 2018
64 Shaftesbury Avenue, London, W1D 6LU
