Wine Week is coming up from the 18th – 24th May and there’s all manner of tastings and events going on across the capital for wine buffs. And if you fancy actually learning a little something at the same time then the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET) are running three masterclasses to get you talking like a pro in no time.

At Hixter Bankside on the 18th and 19th May there’s a speedy masterclass that will teach you the foundations in just over an hour, sampling three different wines with some Hixter nibbles (£20). For something a little more in depth – and for those with some prior knowledge – Vinoteca Farringdon is hosting a three course dinner with matched wines, with tutors from WSET on hand to guide you towards perfect pairings.
