It
seems like some combination of black, sheer and lace gets sent down the runway every year, probably because it suits the winter months so damn well, and a dark, romantic mood prevailed again for Pre-Fall 16.A black-on-black palette gave designers the chance to focus on fabrics…leather and grosgrain at No.21, intricate embellishment at Elie Saab and Victorian lace at Preen were just some of the textures on display. Karl Lagerfeld put an Italian siren spin on the trend as he showed Chanel’s pre-fall collection at Rome’s world-famous Cinecitta, whereas Christopher Kane went way more modern with an edgy mix of studs and ruffles.
[URIS id=61381]HOW TO GET THE LOOK…
It’s all black everything with this trend, so keep your patterns and brights stashed away for another day. Lace is probably simplest way to achieve a sense of dark romance, but a mix of velvet and sheer fabrics offer you a chance to ramp up the drama.
