Master sommelier Xavier Rousset, who also runs Black Book in Soho, Cabotte in the City and Comptoir Blandford in Marylebone, is teaming up with restaurateur Steve Pineau and cheese and charcuterie expert Phil Bartley to open wine bar and deli Old Brompton on Old Brompton Road (naturally). The new spot will have a heavy European influence and there’ll be 250 wines on offer, selected by Pineau and Rousset. Bartley will be choosing the cheese and meat to go with all that vino, and there’ll be over 80 cheeses and lots of British charcuterie available for both dining in and takeaway. The deli and wine shop element of Old Brompton will be ready to go when it opens, with drinking allowed on the outdoor terrace.
