It’s no doubt that the negroni has really picked up in popularity recently, going from an acquired taste to a cocktail bar sensation. Luckily for new and old negroni lovers alike, they’re notoriously easy to make and it’s about to get even easier because Stuzzi, a Michelin Guide-rated Italian restaurant in Yorkshire, is releasing a new gin – made only for negronis.
The Stuzzi team, Jimbob, Harvey, Brett and Tom, threw themselves into creating the ultimate negroni and after somewhere in the vicinity of 10,000 servings of the short punchy drink (presumably lifetime stats), they’re certified experts. The result of their research is the Stuzzi Per Negroni gin, designed to be the perfect accompaniment to Campari and vermouth. The blend of candied Sicilian orange (which takes the edge off the Campari), with a touch of Italian bergamot and liquorice root (which add perfume and floral flavours to amplify the vermouth), makes for a spirit that’ll take a decent negroni and elevate it to a great one.
Stuzzi is officially launching the Per Negroni gin on Wednesday 19th October, with a party full of great drinks, twists on the classic negroni all round good vibes. If you’re looking forward to getting your hands on the new gin, we can do you one better because we have four invites to the launch party to give away to our INSIDERS. Cheers to that!
