Catch the play before it closes in mid-April
Academy Award winner Brie Larson (Room, Lessons in Chemistry, Captain Marvel) is making her West End debut in Elektra, the UK premiere of award-winning poet Anne Carson’s translation of the Sophokles play. Directed by Daniel Fish, who helmed the recent award-winning revival of Oklahoma!, this is the first major revival of the timeless play in over a decade and it’s been dubbed ‘a gratifyingly bone-rattling 75 minutes of punk rock theatre’ by Time Out.
It tells the story of Elektra, who is consumed by grief and her need for survival following her father’s assassination. When her long-lost brother Orestes returns, she involves him in her need for vengeance but it comes at a cost. The production, running at the Duke of York’s Theatre, also stars Stockard Channing (The West Wing, The Good Wife, Grease), Marième Diouf (Romeo and Juliet), Greg Hicks (Grapes of Wrath, Coriolanus) and Patrick Vaill (Stranger Things: The First Shadow, Evening Standard Award winner for his role in Oklahoma!).
We’ve teamed up with Elektra to give away a pair of tickets to the show plus a £100 voucher to spend at Tandoor Chop House, so you can grab a bite to eat before the play. Tandoor Chop House combines a traditional North Indian communal eatery with a classic British chop house, with the tandoor oven having a starring role in the kitchen. The menu includes dishes like bhaji onion rings with smoked aubergine raita, Amritsari lamb chops, black pepper chicken tikka, tandoor-roasted squash, bone marrow naan, nimbu masala fries, and coal-roasted pineapple with mango sorbet.
