Ochre, the modern British restaurant inside the National Gallery, is really making the most of its location this Valentine’s Day by hosting a celebratory love and art evening. Guests for the ‘Love Conquers All’ dinner can take a tour of five specially selected paintings from the gallery designed to evoke feelings of love, including Diego Velazquez’s The Toilet of Venus (‘The Rokeby Venus’), Titian’s Bacchus and Ariadne, and Sandro Botticelli’s Venus and Mars. You’ll also receive an exclusive map with details of each masterpiece and its location in the gallery so you can plan a return visit with your date.
Once the art has got you in the mood for romance, it’s onto dinner, which kicks off with a glass of Laurent-Perrier Champagne and includes turbot on the plancha with roasted curried cauliflower, golden raisins, hazelnuts & coconut yoghurt, and the Love Conquers All dessert, with live music from Jess Duo to really set the vibes off right.
