{PAIRED} is back at Carousel with another hot collab
Carousel and AVA are hosting their first {PAIRED} event, where music and food intertwine, of 2026 this June and it’s a big one. John Javier, who’s currently cooking at Caia and ran acclaimed restaurant MASTER in Sydney, is doing the food, with music coming from Kai Campos, one half of pioneering electronic duo Mount Kimbie.
The evening starts with a multi-sensory dinner shaped by John and Kai, featuring dishes like millionaire’s spring roll, steamed clams with glass noodles and XO sauce, dragon phoenix soup, Peking-style pork jowl wth pancakes and condiments, and Hong Kong-style custard tarts. Then the tables get cleared and Kai steps up to the decks for a DJ set. And as it’s the same date as England’s final World Cup group game, Carousel will be screening the match afterwards as well.
