London’s leading literary festival, Wimbledon BookFest, is returning for another chapter this October. The eleven-day event will see a huge selection of authors from across fiction, non-fiction, children’s literature and more take to the stage for a series of panels and events. Highlight speakers include Hamnet author Maggie O’Farrell, Booker-nominated writer Elif Shafak and journalist Caitlin Moran. There’ll also be appearances from Marina Hyde, Matt Haig, Meera Syal, Julian Clary, Chris Riddell, Tim Spector, Craig Revel Horwood and Celie Imrie, to name a few.
This year’s edition is celebrating the National Year of Reading, a campaign to encourage more people to pick up a book (and put down their phones). Plus, there’s £10 tickets for under-30s. Gen Z are really into reading these days, don’t you know.
