WILLY’S PIES TO OPEN IN LONDON FIELDS

Willy’s Pies has been one of the biggest success stories to come out of lockdown. After being furloughed in the first lockdown former St John and Brat chef Will Lewis started knocking out pies and delivering them by bike from his base in Leyton. Since then he’s taken his pies across the city, selling out week on week, and now he’s taken half-time snacks up a notch by becoming the official pie supplier to Watford FC.

To make all those pies for the footy, Will has got himself a unit under the railway arches in London Fields with his flour supplier Wildfarmed Grain going in on the space too. Once the wholesale side of the operation is sorted, he’s got plans to open it up for retail, with a counter selling crusty rolls, bagels, pasties, iced buns, grandma slices, Tottenham cakes, braised meat baps and more baked treats. He’ll also be selling takeaway pies (either rabbit with bacon & cider or roast chicken with ham hock & leek) with mash, gravy and peas on Wednesday 15th December from 1pm till 3pm. But as as for an official opening date, you’ll have to keep your eyes on the pies.
