WHERE’S FRED’S TO OPEN IN THE CITY

Chelsea Finch, the brains behind the District group of cafes is heading to the City for her latest venture Where’s Fred’s, and she’s covering all bases as it’ll be serving specialty coffee and brunch during the day and low-intervention wine and Mediterranean-inspired dishes at night. The daytime menu will include the likes of pan con tomate with fried eggs, truffle egg croissants, Fred’s loaded banana bread, a selection of sarnies made with The Snapery Bakery bread, and a hot lunch dish like spaghetti vongole or steak & vintage cheddar pie.

Then the menu is going to flip into small plates for the evening, with dishes including cheeseboards, Cobble Lane charcuterie boards, oysters Kilpatrick (that’s with bacon, butter & Worcestershire sauce), burrata with roasted squash & pesto and cannellini beans with cavolo nero & parmesan. Emma Underwood has helped out on the wine list, curating a selection of mostly European low-intervention wines with many available by the glass and two on tap, with the Origin Coffee served during the day also being used to make espresso martinis at night – yep you won’t be going thirsty at Where’s Fred’s.
