It falls on a Sunday this year so there’s a whole weekend of fun to be had

It’s that time of year again. The time when everyone claims to be a little bit Irish – yes a great, great grandma on your dad’s side does count. Heading to your local for a pint or two of the black stuff is great but if you want to take things up a notch, there’s plenty of live music, Irish dancing, and special dishes to enjoy, so here are the best places celebrate St Patrick’s Day in London.



The Sun Tavern

For exclusive Paddy’s Day cocktails, oysters, and live music, spend St. Patrick’s Day at The Sun Tavern. Sink specialty cocktails, created in partnership with Teeling Whiskey, along with complimentary oysters from the Oyster Boy from 12pm, and there’ll be a cèilidh band and guest DJ to keep the party going with live music.

Dram Bar

BAR 1661, the award-winning Irish bar, is making an appearance at Dram Bar for an early St Patrick’s Day celebration on 11th March. They’ll be serving two variations of Irish Coffee including BAR 1661’s signature drink The Belfast Coffee. On the day itself, Dram Bar will be serving Irish dry stout Guinness.

BOXPARK

BOXPARK is kicking off the St. Patrick’s Day party on Friday across all three sites. At the Shoreditch and Croydon locations, there will be Hip Hop Paddy’oke (karaoke) and Irish-themed Bingo Lingo, and over in Wembley, iconic girl band B*Witched will perform, including their hits ‘C’est la Vie’ and ‘Rollercoaster’.

Big Penny Social

If you’ve got an Irish jig in you that you need to get out, head to Big Penny Social, where Irish dancers from the Maggie O’Shea Dance Academy will teach you a step or two. Nancy Spains

Opening just in time for St. Paddy’s Day weekend, Nancy Spains, a new Irish pub in Shoreditch, is going big for the celebration with cheap drinks and live music. They’ll be serving up Jamesons whiskey cocktails from Friday to Sunday and you’ll be able to get Murphy’s Stout for £2.50 all day on Saturday. On the day itself, acoustic guitarist Jeremy Peter Allan will be the live entertainment, followed by DJs and an Irish Trad session.

The Audley Public House

Experience a weekend of Irish celebration at The Audley Public House, where hey’ll be dishing out Irish Lamb Stew and Guinness rarebit, an Irish take on the pub’s London Rarebit. Sounds of fiddles and a festive atmosphere will take over the pub beginning at 2pm on the Sunday, with live traditional Irish music from Rakish Paddy.

A special Guinness tap will be installed for St. Patrick’s Day festivities at Langan’s Brasserie, and to go with your pints there’ll be a special set lunch menu. Dishes include Dublin Bay Prawn cocktail, corned beef terrine with pickles, Guinness-braised short rib with celeriac purée, roast cod with colcannon and mussel sauce, Irish coffee trifle, and devil’s food Guinness cake with vanilla ice cream.
