When Are the Next Tube Strikes in London?

There are currently no upcoming Tube strikes, but workers are withdrawing from overtime until Sun 5th May

Tube strikes organised by the Transport Salaried Staffs’ Association (TSSA) in a dispute over proposed changes to terms and conditions, job roles and locations went ahead on Fri 26th April. There is currently no further industrial action planned by London Underground workers.

TSSA members who work as Customer Service Managers – and are responsible for running Tube stations – walked out on last for just under 24 hours, causing stations across the city to close at short notice. This was the second bout of recent strikes planned by the TSSA, who also arranged walkouts on Wed 10th April at short notice which caused stations to close for the day.

Though the walkout is now over, London Underground workers who are members of the TSSA will also take part in an overtime ban from Mon 29th April to Sun 5th May, again leading to station closures.

There are no further Tube strikes currently planned.

London Underground workers who are members of the TSSA will be withdrawing from overtime on the following dates:

  • Mon 29th April – Sun 5th May 2024

About the industrial action, the TSSA’s General Secretary, Maryam Eslamdoust, said: “It’s clear that our Customer Service Managers strike on 10 April made a real impact, many stations shut at short notice, and we had overwhelming support from the public. Because of London Underground’s refusal to get back round the negotiating table, we have been forced to take further strike action this week.

“London Underground must now come clean with the public – their refusal to negotiate seriously and fairly with our union will lead to stations closing at the last minute and other stations being understaffed.

“We have made it clear that our union will not accept the continued threats to our members’ roles, locations, terms, and conditions to stand unchallenged. We will continue to take sustained action until London Underground is prepared to negotiate with us in good faith.”
