westerns laundry to open

Stokey’s Primeur is getting a sister in Lower Holloway this May. Housed in a 1950s building just round the corner from Highbury & Islington, Westerns Laundry is the second offering from Jeremie Cometto-Lingenheim and David Gingell. The daily changing menu will focus on seafood and their produce will be sourced from the British Isles, so you can expect dishes to include sea bass and seaweed tartare, raw scallop with Le Coste olive oil, and chargrilled mackerel served with miso and chilli. For those who aren’t so keen on the fishy options there’ll also be pork loin, chopped greens, basil and capers, and beef rump with roast garlic butter and croutons.

What’s more the restaurant will have its own wine cellar with over 200 bottles from small scale producers. This place isn’t just about the food and drink though; the interior will be an instagrammable dream with original 1940s chairs and electric blue velvet banquettes. Yes, this one’s gonna be a little bit swish and it’s already got us excited.
