One
of the main reasons that we love London is that anything is possible. If you wanted to watch a film anywhere else you could go to the cinema or buy a DVD to watch at home. In London though you could always go to the pub to watch a film…..Not just any pub though. The West End Film Club is taking over The Comedy Pub on Oxendon Street for one day only Tuesday 28th February and is showing the 80’s classic Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. The John Hughes film, starring Matthew Broderick is a classic of the comedy genre, so the Comedy Pub, just doors away from The Comedy Store, seems like the most appropriate place for it to be shown!
It’s a late showing, so you won’t need to take a ‘Day Off’, but you might be a bit bleary eyed on Wednesday – doors are at 10pm with the film starting at 11pm. There will be music and cheap drinks with the bar open until 1am. Tickets are priced at £5 each.
Last year’s season of pop-up films consisted of outstanding choices like Labyrinth, The Breakfast Club, Top Gun, Stand By Me and Halloween so we will be hoping to see plenty more coming soon! Watch this space….
