| BACK AGAIN

Sending us on a journey into Summer five-months ahead of schedule is indie group Flor’s latest effort, which sees the quartet taking injecting a heavy dose of soul into an undeniably pop track to create something altogether kind of fucking wonderful, to put it bluntly.

MOON KING | APOCALYPSE

Band member Daniel Benjamin calls Moon King’s debut album “a collection of very sad songs played with all the joy and energy possible,” which could not be a more succinct way to sum up their latest effort, the aptly named Apocalypse. Quite possibly our new favourite band!

FLORENCE + THE MACHINE | WHAT KIND OF MAN

After a while out of the spotlight, Florence Welsh is back with an absolutely humongous bang. Although her second album may have disappointed some fans who were floored by the sound of ‘Lungs’, her new single What Kind of Man feels like an extension of that sound, albeit with enough evolution to be labelled its own entity. Paired with arguably her most striking visual to date, the wait for the full album in June looks set to be a long one.

HUON KIND | FEEL LIKE THIS

Although some might argue it’s arrived a little late to the recent disco resurgence, we think it’s safe to say Feels Like This manages to stay sounding fresh thanks to its subtle blend of a Nile Rogers-esque sound with a smattering of retro-laced R&B flavour to create yet another great track to come out of Australia this year, who as a country just so happens to be killing it lately. We really need to step it up, guys.

ZELLA DAY | SWEET OPHELIA

Next up we have a complete stormer of a track in the form of Sweet Ophelia, an almost aggressively melancholic track – if that’s not a thing, we’re making it a thing – thanks to it’s sweeping delivery, spine-tingling vocals and one hell of a relentless beat.
