Wear Your Love for Wikipedia With This New Streetwear Collection

German brand Armedangels has created a limited-edition capsule collection that celebrates free knowledge

Armedangels is on a mission to make a difference by changing the fashion production system to be better for the environment and enabling people to tackle climate change. It regularly does collab collections with other brands and organisations that share the same values, and the latest one is with everyone’s fave Internet encyclopaedia.

The Armedangels x Wikipedia collection has been designed to support “a world that’s both smart & sustainable”. The range, which includes tees, sweaters, socks and caps, is made from up to 100% recycled cotton, with the Wikipedia ‘W’ logo and the ‘hyperlink blue’ colour featuring heavily.

The Blue Marble, an image of Earth taken from the Apollo 17 mission in 1972, one of the most widely reproduced images in the world, is featured across on a t-shirt and a sweater. There are also caps embroidered with ‘Open source of information’ and slogans featuring excerpts of text relating to ‘equality’ and ‘peace’ on tees, so you can literally wear your values on your sleeves.

12% of the sales proceeds from the collection will be donated to the Wikimedia Foundation, the non-profit that supports the infrastructure and volunteer communities behind Wikipedia.
