Fancy going for a drink in an old Victorian toilet? You’ll soon be spoiled for choice as the team behind Clapham WC, the wine and charcuterie bar in a 100-year-old former water closet underneath Clapham Common station, are opening a second site in Bloomsbury. This Grade-II listed former bog at the top of Lamb’s Conduit Street has been restored with the original wood stalls, tiles, marble floors and porcelain pieces given a new lease of life.
There’s not a huge amount of detail yet on either the drinks list or food menu. We know there’ll be a regularly changing wine list alongside a selection of cocktails as well as small plates, charcuterie and cheese served with homemade pickles and chutneys. And we also know that it’s ballsy to be opening a wine bar just up the street from Noble Rot…
