from the highly acclaimed ‘Ivy Tripp’ album released earlier this year, Kate Crutchfield’s musical project Waxahatchee have revealed the video for album track ‘La Loose’. Winding pop laden synths through a breezey, whimsical backbone, ‘La Loose’ manages to be as elevating as it is experimental and hopelessly hooky to boot. The video, directed by Naomi Yang (Galaxie 500, Damon & Naomi), sees Kate taking centre stage against a backdrop of stunning landscapes with Yang saying of the video “I wanted the video to be a visual equivalent to the song lyric, “a charming picture of hysteria in love” – a spinning emotional kaleidoscope of desire and rejection, adoration and anger, hope and despair. For this reason I set the video in mirror-twin locations: an abandoned, haunted amusement park and a thriving farm out of a beautiful dream.”
