wake up to the lord mayor’s balloon regatta

This is one Sunday you’ll wanna be waking up early because 50 hot air balloons will be taking to the sky as part of the Ricoh Lord Mayor’s Hot Air Balloon Regatta. Providing the weather plays ball of course – last time the event was scheduled, the wind wasn’t blowing in the right direction, so no balloons.

Launching (hopefully) from Battersea Park around 5.30am and flying over the city, the balloons will pass by landmarks like Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye and Tower Bridge. It’s all in aid of the Lord Mayor’s Appeal, which focuses on initiatives like promoting inclusive workplaces, empowering young women, reducing the stigma around mental health and supporting philanthropy amongst City businesses.Better set those alarms…
