A new hotel inspired by historic trading guilds is opening in the City early next year. As it’s named after both the Vintry Guild (trading in wine) and the Mercer Guild (trading in fine fabrics), Vintry & Mercer will be full of vino and bespoke fabrics as well as 92 luxurious bedrooms, complete with walk-in showers, plush textiles, Nespresso machines and LED TVs. There will also be three different drinking and dining areas; the Do Not Disturb speakeasy cocktail bar, the Vintry Kitchen which’ll serve Mediterranean small plates and wine, and the Mercer Roof Terrace, with a charcoal oven and views over the City and the Southbank. Sounds like this is gonna be one popular spot.
