VestalVaults is a new basement style cocktail pop-up located underneath The Forge in Covent Garden. We know another one but this one’s a little different, there is NO gin allowed, not one exposed wall brick in sight and there are no theatricals involved in making the drinks.
The Vestal Vodka Vaults is a laid back joint and as well as cocktails you will find a couple of nibbles on offer – tempura prawns with Plum sauce – yes please. The menu features eight cocktails, we tried the Hot Sexy Punch, because we were feeling all hot and sexy. A fruity mixture of Vestal Kaszebe, Pineapple juice, Cinnamon Syrup, Cherry Herring, Martini Bianco, Lemon and Dash Angostura Bitters topped with Sparkling wine. The Vestal Mezcal, a kick-ass cocktail of Vestal Podlasie, Kamm and Sons and Peychaud Bitters, not for the faint hearted or Monday night drinker.
We finished with the Creme de Cacao Vestal Espresso Flip; Vestal Kaszebe Rye, Egg White, Brazil Nut Syrup and Espresso Sprinkled with Coffee Grinds. Bigger than an Espresso martini and more like a creamy ice coffee. But our favourite was actually the new Vestal Amber liqueur (vodka mixed with Elderflower syrup) topped with Prosecco because well, we’re simple at heart.
The cocktails come in at just £7 which is a bargain given the central location. Pop along before it pops down early next year and keep an eye out for VV we hear there exciting times ahead.
