VERMOUTH 49 OPEN IN BERMONDSEY

After a recent trip to Barcelona, we got seriously hooked on vermouth so we’re excited to see more vermouth bars, like Vermouth 49, open here in London. Vermouth 49 in Bermondsey is heavily inspired by Spain and has El Bandarra at the heart of the drinks list, although owners Zac and Alicia aren’t rigid when it comes to the Spanish theme, so you’ll be able to find vermouths from further afield too.

Located in an old Victorian railway arch, the team will be offering a huge range of vermouths as well as some of their own inventions, like the beermouth (that’s beer with a double shot of vermouth in FYI). The bar also serves up salty nibbles like gildas, meats, cheeses and pickles, making use of local suppliers like Cannon & Cannon and The Snapery.

Vermouth 49 is already open but they’re throwing a special launch party with El Bandarra on 20th September from 6pm, so it’s the perfect excuse to get down there and check it out.
