Club Mexicana is heading back east with a third site set to open in Spitalfields this November. The new restaurant will take over the prime 70-cover Commercial Street spot, formerly home to HotBox, redoing the interiors with exposed brick walls, an orange and blue colour palette and a large 80s-inspired mirrorball. And it looks like we can expect a bigger menu than ever, with our faves returning alongside some new dishes exclusive to Spitalfields.
Always plant-based and freshly prepared, the expanded menu will include:
- Birria Tacos: crispy corn tortillas stuffed with slow-cooked ‘beef’ brisket, queso, onion, onion salsa and dipped in chilli consommé
- Tofish & Chips Taco: pea salsa verde, tartare sauce, pink pickled onions and matchstick potatoes
- Mexican Street Corn: house-made mayo, dairy-free parmesan, ancho chilli, dust, lime, paprika and salt
- Club Mex Soft Serve: made in-house and available in organic vanilla, Mexican cacao or with coffee-infused tequila
As for drinks, there’ll be cocktails like Blanco Negroni and chocolate-infused Mexicana Martini, a selection of mezcal and tequila, lageritas, frozen margs and pina coladas. Cheers to that!
