Just when you thought the vegan train might have been slowing down, along come another set of restaurants. There’s small plates restaurant and cocktail bar The Brook on Mare Street, and Buffalo, a vegan diner now open in the former Black & Yellow space on Brick Lane. Created by Ludmilla Giradi (ex-Gordon Ramsey and Ottolenghi), the menu at Buffalo features two types of burgers (a tempeh, kidney bean and walnut patty or a tofu, mushroom, carrot and brown rice patty) and toppings like buffalo sauce, kimchi and wasabi mayo, as well as other dishes like jackfruit korma, glazed tofu carbonara, buffalo cauliflower and vegan ice cream.
