We’re already getting Uber boats and now another alternative method of public transport has come to town…open-top sightseeing buses. Whilst the city is largely free of tourists, The Original Tour is putting its fleet of open-top buses to good use by running commuter journeys between popular transport hubs instead.
Travel crowdsourcing platform Snap is facilitating the scheme; users are asked to enter their home and work destinations and once enough people have requested a similar journey, a bus will put on for that route. Passengers will be able to track the buses so they know when pick-ups and drop-offs will be, and there’ll be social distancing on board so it’ll be a totally safe way to get to work.
