All My Friends – the bar, music venue and record shop from the team at The Cause – has welcomed a new trader to their street food lineup. Uncle Hon’s BBQ is the latest project from Luk Man Hon, the man behind Vinyl Pimp which has been selling second-hand records since 2007, who’s swapping turntables for grills. During a stint in the USA, Hon was passing through Texas when he fell in love with BBQ culture and learned the art of cooking over an open fire from a seasoned smoker, returning to London having had a full-on masterclass in all things meat. He bought his own smoker and is now serving up his own subtle Chinese twist on classic Southern BBQ to All My Friends diners. Fancy trying it for yourself? Head to Hackney Wick from 5pm on Fridays and 12pm on Saturdays and Sundays, when Hon will be slinging meats until they sell out. And they will sell out – you might wanna get there early.
