Two Hospo Titans Are Opening a Chinese Pub

Kong is coming from Andrew Wong and Dishoom co-founder Amar Radia

Andrew Wong, who holds two Michelin stars at A.Wong in Pimlico, is dipping his toe in the more casual end of the market once again (his Bloomberg Arcade restaurant Kym’s lasted two years) and opening a Chinese pub on the site that used to be home to the Water Poet. The location, which includes a courtyard, first opened as a pub in 1792, which is around the same time that Chinese settlers first arrived in East London.

We don’t have many details about Kong yet, other that it’s joining a burgeoning group of restaurants that includes Osteria Angelina and Kolamba East, and that it will blend a traditional pub with a Chinese kitchen. That means you can expect dumplings, noodles, grills and pints. Watch this space for more….
