TURNIPS TO LAUNCH A SUPPER CLUB AT BOROUGH MARKET

Fruit & veg stall Turnips, which has been trading at Borough Market for 30 years, is teaming up with Tomas Lidakevicius, exec chef of City Social, to launch a veggie-focused supper club. There’ll actually be two parts to the new Turnips experience, with both menus changing regularly according to what produce is in season. The first will be a small plates menu offered in the spot where Turnips usually trades, where dishes will include sweet ‘n’ sour Brittany cauliflower with sesame seeds, Provence tomato bruschetta with cavolo nero pesto, and fish balls with Sicilian pepper sauce.

The second will be a five-course menu served under the market’s arches where you’ll be able to watch Tomas in action from his shipping container kitchen, with the likes of Provence tomato & prawn, Yorkshire beans & peas with 48-hour short rib and Lazare cherry with dark chocolate on offer. Both options will be running Thursdays – Sundays.

Launches Thurs 16th July 2020
