Trinity in Clapham Is Launching a Spin-Off Sandwich Concept

Outside by Trinity will be doing sarnies, chips and ice cream

Michelin-starred Trinity in Clapham is known for its fine-dining European menu but chef-proprietor Adam Byatt isn’t afraid to try new things at the restaurant. In 2015 he opened Upstairs, a more casual dining room – you guessed it – above the main space, and he’s also been doing al fresco dining outside the restaurant. Now the outside space will become home to Outside by Trinity, a sandwich truck headed up by Trinity chef India.

There’ll be five ciabatta sandwiches on offer, with fillings like red curry prawns and smashed cucumber; prosciutto puttanesca; and sumac roast veg with white bean & artichoke hummus, plus weekly changing specials. You’ll be able to get fries on the side, soft serve ice cream for afters, and the short drinks selection will include Trinity’s own beers, a couple of wines, a G&T and an Aperol spritz.

Speaking about the new concept, Adam Byatt said: “We wanted to do something disruptive and of the moment with the space this year. An opportunity for my brilliant team to develop an idea they had and for us to offer a completely accessible and fun dining experience backed by the resources that Trinity has to offer, I am so excited for Outside 2025, this is different and out of our comfort zone – just where I want us to be!”

London’s sandwich scene has been booming over the last few years, so it’ll be interesting to see how will these Michelin-starred sarnies stack up to the rest.
