Topshop has joined forces for a 2nd year running with the people behind From Somewhere to create 2013s Reclaim to Wear collection. The completely zero waste designs are made entirely from discarded material. Here’s to the planet fashion friendly footprint. Reclaim to Wear started in 1997 by Orsola de Castro and Filippo Ricci, a simple concept to tackle the issue of textile waste. Not recycling but Up-cycling, a balance of consumption and disposal.
The eco capsule collection is produced in Britain, and is basically the best of Topshop’s cast offs…possibly the best hand-me-downs ever? It is Topshop’s commitment to sustainable solutions against their fast fashion business which will set the bar for other high street stores to consider when production wastes is just thrown away.
Emma Wisden, buying director at Topshop loves the concept, saying ‘We are very excited about the launch…the blueprint that Orsola and Filippo have developed with us will hopefully allow Topshop to scale this project and apply the learning across a broader section of the supply chain’
The new collection features great summer florals, such as the gorgeous the wide leg culottes, slip skirts and camis, all in silk and have a slight Liberty vibe about them. Super affordable, starting at £34, this is guilt free shopping that helps the environment…what’s not to love, look good – good deed. Well done you!
