Good news for ramen lovers in E17 – London’s best ramen is coming to Walthamstow, courtesy of Tonkotsu. Opening up on Hoe street (the busy end) in late November, Tonkotsu will have all your usual faves, including that signature pork bone broth with homemade noodles, gyoza, chicken karage, and more.

No visit to Tonkotsu would be complete without a few plump, juicy gyoza and Tonkotsu Walthamstow will be serving up freshly steamed batches of the classic pork, ginger and garlic, as well as king prawn, and shiitake and ginger. Tonkotsu’s chicken kara-age is some of the best fried chicken in London and it will feature on the Walthamstow menu alongside Eat the Bits Chilli chicken wings, plus a brand-new vegan cauliflower version of the wings.

Tonkotsu will also be stocking beers from their new E17 neighbours Signature Brew, as well as a new Minkan Shimoda Pale Ale made in collaboration with Thornbridge.

In keeping with the times, Tonkotsu will be replacing its traditional ‘£5 ramen’ soft launch and the inevitable queues of people, with a new online lottery.  Anyone who registers with Tonkotsu here, will receive a £5 voucher to use at the restaurant within the first three weeks of opening, plus 30 people will be picked at random to receive a £50 voucher. Guests will be able to use the vouchers for dine in as well as for Tonkotsu’s new ‘Click and Collect’ service.
