Tonkotsu has just opened in Peckham but the ramen restaurant group isn’t slowing down, opening another new site in Shoreditch this autumn. Tonkotsu will be taking up residence in a brand new building on New Inn Yard and this site will feature a massive light installation made from 1,600 recycled bamboo Tonkotsu chopsticks.
All the signature ramen, including the Tonkotsu, the Chilli Chicken and the Mushroom Miso, will be present and correct, as will gyoza, chicken kara-age and new sides like squid & prawn popcorn and padron pepper & okura tempura with matcha salt. The drinks list will feature two exclusive bevvies – a specially made sake from the Tsuji Brewery in Okayama and a custom Shimoda Session Pale Ale from Magic Rock Brewing – as well as a range of Japanese whiskies, beers, cocktails, softies and teas. And if you get down there before 31st October, you can score any ramen or hiyashi bowl for just a fiver!
