Story Cellar will open in April, with a menu of dishes inspired by the French capital
Not long after we heard that Restaurant Story’s Tom Sellers was launching Dovetale inside the new 1 Hotel this May, it’s been announced that he has yet another opening planned for 2023. This April, Sellers will be bringing Story Cellar, a continuation of his debut, to Neal’s Yard with Stephen Naylor (sous chef of Restaurant Story for the past four years) acting as head chef.
Story Cellar’s food offering will centre around rotisserie chicken served with house salad and fries, but there’ll also be a range of classic dishes that have been reimagined by Sellers, including:
- terrine of the season, like rabbit, carrot, prune & foie gras
- snail bolognese on toast with parsley butter
- hand dived scallop with XO sauce or green strawberry
- mussels in ‘Story’ cider
- preserved lemon & green olive pappardelle
- grass-fed sirloin, rib of beef and T-bone for two
- dry aged pork chop & brandy pickled dates
- almond & dill soft serve
- brown sugar brulee
- trifle with preserved rhubarb & pistachio
Drinks wise, the fine wine programme will be supported by a Coravin system, meaning that diners will have the chance to try rare wines that would usually only be available by the bottle. The restaurant will have mostly counter-style seating, with spaces by the windows looking out onto Neal’s Yard – sounds like this is poised to become a hot people watching spot.
