Back in 2016 we thought that a Time Out Market London, similar to the set up they have in Lisbon, was opening in Spitalfields. It didn’t end up getting approval (although it sounds like Time Out Group is still seeking planning consent) but now a 32,000 sq ft site in Waterloo has been secured so a Time Out Market London is on the way.
The two-floor site, with around 500 seats, is scheduled to open in 2021 and it’ll feature 17 restaurants, three bars and a space for cultural events. The market will be one part of a massive development in Waterloo; the former Eurostar terminal in the station is also being brought back to life with mix of retail and leisure offerings.
The Waterloo market is one of seven global sites in the pipeline – markets are set to open in Miami, NYC, Boston, Chicago, Montreal and Prague as well – and if the Spitalfields location comes off too, Time Out will have a huge presence in London.
