THREE MICHELIN-STARRED CHEF MASAYOSHI TAKAYAMA IS COMING TO HARRODS

Following the opening of Studio Frantzén from Bjorn Frantzén, another big-name chef is heading to the department store

Harrods is continuing to pull in the big guns with Japanese chef Masayoshi ‘Masa’ Takayama being the latest high-profile chef to open a restaurant in the store. Takayama, who trained under sushi master Sugiyama Toshiaki at Ginza Sushi-ko in Tokyo and runs the three-star Masa in New York (he was the first Japanese chef in the US to achieve that accolade) as well as Bar Masa next door, and Kappo Masa with art gallerist Larry Gagosian, is a bit of a legend, so we’re expecting big things from what will be his first UK project.

We don’t know very much about it yet, apart from that it’ll take up a prime location within Harrods and it’ll serve up Masa’s signature Japanese cuisine, so we’ll bring you more info when we have it. In the meantime, you can start saving up – the omakase menu at Masa in NYC costs $750 per person and we’re betting a meal at the Harrods restaurant won’t come cheap either.
