THOMAS STRAKER TO OPEN HIS DEBUT RESTAURANT IN NOTTING HILL

You’ve seen his cooking vids on social media and soon you’ll be able to try his food for yourself as Thomas Straker (who’s spent time at The Dorchester, Dinner by Heston Blumenthal and Elystan Street) is opening his debut restaurant this June. The 40-cover Straker’s, opening in Notting Hill, will showcase the simple, seasonal food he’s become known for whipping up online, making use of sustainable, seasonal ingredients from local producers.

The menu will include the likes of tomato & anchovy flatbread; gnocco fritto with whipped cod’s roe; clams with nduja & basil; grilled asparagus & burrata; fresh crab ravioli; potato gnocchi with burnt butter & lemon; whole grilled seabass with white peach, green beans & almonds; and slow-cooked lamb shoulder with broad beans & salsa verde. He’s got Alex at The Modest Merchant to do the wine list, which’ll feature low intervention bottles from France, Italy and Spain, and that will sit alongside a short menu of classic cocktails. Given how popular Thomas has become on social media, we’re expecting his restaurant to be a big hit.

Opens June 2022
91 Golborne Rd, London, W10 5PR
