these restaurants are raising money for australia’s bushfire relief
We’ve all the seen the devastating photos on the news and across social media of the Australian bushfires – millions of hectares have been burned, over a billion animals have died, 27 people have lost their lives and many more are being forced to flee their homes. Funds for the regional fire services, the Red Cross and wildlife rescue organisations are badly needed, and a host of London restaurants are doing their bit by hosting special events and donating proceeds from menu items sold.
The Victoria restaurant, part of the Daisy Green collection, will be hosting an eight-course dinner with paired wine on Australia Day (25th January). All the profits will be donated to the Country Fire Associations, Red Cross and Adelaide Hills Wine Region Fire Appeal. All the restaurants in the Daisy Green group will be donating £2 from every chicken parmigiana, £1 from every glass of Aussie wine and 50p from every Lamington sold across the month.
The Stokey restaurant run by Aussie native Alexis Noble will be running a special Australia Day menu with a wine flight featuring bottles from Adelaide Hills, with all the wine flight proceeds being donated. Alexis has also set up a raffle for people to donate.
50p from every Tim Tam & Lamnut doughnut sold on Australia Day weekend will be donated to WIRES.
