| SINKING STONE

One of our favourites on the list this week, Sinking Stone sees GEMS’ vocalist Lindsey Pitts channelling Goldfrapp on top of an instrumental packed with hazy, reverberating guitars that come together to take you on a breathtaking journey for 4 minutes.

CHVRCHES | DEAD AIR

Appearing on The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 soundtrack – which has been curated by US singer Lorde – the synth-pop trio’s track Dead Air feels like the perfect fit for the upcoming film thanks to its dark synths and moody, eighties vibe that the British band have become synonymous with.

FIRST AID KIT | STAY GOLD

Taken from the Swedish sister’s album of the same name, the melancholic 70s-tinged folk-pop track Stay Gold sounds like it could have been taken from a country edition of Lana Del Rey’s LP Ultraviolence.

SPELLES | BIRD IN A CAGE

Instantly calling to mind the likes of VV Brown and Florence and the Machine, Los Angeles-based singer Spelles’ debut Bird In A Cage is a gorgeous, percussion driven track laced with catchy guitar riffs and captivating vocals. We don’t know much about her at the moment, but we’ve no doubt that’s going to change in the future.

TEI SHI | SEE ME

After we praised her flawless track Bassically a few weeks ago in a previous edition of NOISE BOX, Tei Shi has returned with yet another haunting slice of unconventional pop in the form of See Me.
