| I’M CALLIN’

Instantly reminiscent of the sound of HAIM’s critically acclaimed debut Days Are Gone, but with a far less subtle pop influence, I’m Callin’ is a breezy, summery effort that was produced by Patrick Carney of The Black Keys and unapologetically sits comfortably at the top of this week’s NOISE BOX.

MANOR | CAN YOU HEAR ME TALKING AT YOU

Next up we have a hazy, riff-jammed effort from Melbourne-based duo Manor. The track, which is leading their forthcoming EP of the same name, is elevated to greatness thanks to Caitlin Duff’s gorgeous vocals and an absolutely undeniable melody that you’ll be caught humming for weeks to come.

CRYSTAL CASTLES | DEICIDE

With a new line-up, Crystal Castle’s latest track might sound a little jarring to fans of the band at first. However, it’s eerie vibe and ominously thumping beat bring that glorious gothic edge they’re known for, with the addition of vocals from the mysteriously named Edith. Is she like Cher? Or Madonna? Either way, it gives her some serious mystique.

YOUNG SUMMER | LEAVE YOUR LOVE

Leave Your Love, best described as a melancholic summer anthem. Melancholy can be such an incredible tool for a song when done right, and Young Summer have succeeded where others have failed with this authentic sounding, late 80’s-inspired dream-pop track.

LUSTS | WAVES

Not that it was intentional – although we all love a bit of arguably the best decade – but this week’s list has been packed full of 80s influences, and Waves from LUSTS is no exception. We could imagine it slotting into The Breakfast Club soundtrack with ease, thanks to it’s Joy Division vibe and a deadpan vocal delivery that lets the instrumental do most of the talking.
