ONES – DIM THE LIGHTS

First on this week’s NOISE BOX is a track from Wild Ones, who have returned with catchy pop track Dim The Lights. In the same vein as Foxes latest effort Body Talk, the track has an undeniable summer evening vibe vibe that demands it only be played when the sun’s beginning to set and the night is slowly but surely taking its strangle hold on the bustling streets of London.

EDITORS – MARCHING ORDERS

Next up, we’ve got a storming track from the Editors. It’s a stadium-ready eight-minute long anthem that plays on the band’s strengths and has been paired with arguably their best music video to date.

CAIROBI – GRISTLY WORDS

Experimental five-piece Cairobi’s latest track is an unwavering indie-rock that’s packed to the brim with an undeniable sense of frustration and angst that sadly comes to an end all too quickly for our liking. Definitely one for when the boss is being a total knob and you need to vent at your desk.

COMPNY – GENTLY LET YOU DOWN

Another track to ring in the summer with – and it’s about time – is Gently Let You Down, thanks to it’s breezy chorus and uplifting use of percussion that gives you that skipping down the streets with Disney birds flying around your head kind of feeling. Think 500 Days of Summer, before Summer turned out to be a total fucking bitch.

WIDOWSPEAK – GIRLS

Finally, we’ve come to Girls. A gorgeous dream-pop track with a Western-noir edge that dares to explore that road we all go down on a quiet Sunday afternoon to ourselves where we panic that we’ve wasted our entire lives and, even worse, we’ve not got enough time to make up for it.
