THE WATER HOUSE PROJECT TO GO PERMANENT

Gabriel Waterhouse (ex-Galvin La Chapelle) has been running supper club and pop-up The Water House Project since 2015, growing from hosting in his own home to other venues across East London. And now Gabriel is taking it permanent, opening a space dedicated to The Water House Project in Hackney this month. The restaurant will continue the social fine dining ethos that’s at the heart of the project – making high-end food accessible and serving it without stuffiness – with two shared tables seating up to 32.

Like the pop-ups, the new space will serve a seasonally-changing nine-course menu, made with locally sourced produce, alongside six paired wines. The winter menu, running until the end of February, features dishes like pumpkin with goat’s curd and pickled walnut puree; St Austell mussels with fermented artichoke; pheasant and plum chutney doughnuts; and chocolate ganache with sage sorbet. The Water House Project pop-ups have always been very popular so this perm restaurant is a sure to go down a storm too.
