A NEW SCOTTISH RESTAURANT IS COMING TO THE WALMER CASTLE

Whisky fans, rejoice! Notting Hill is getting a taste of the Highlands as The Walmer Castle is being reborn as a Scottish restaurant and whisky bar. The restaurant is headed up by entrepreneur and hotelier Piers Adams; the menu, inspired by modern highland cuisine, has been overseen by The Craigellachie Hotel’s Executive Chef William Halsall; and the whisky offering has been curated by Sarah Burgess, previously the lead blender at Macallan.

The food menu is a celebration of Speyside fare, so expect to see dishes including Highland smoked salmon, Grants of Speyside haggis bon bons, Kellas Estate venison carpaccio, Speyside 100% Scotch Assured steak, local lobster truffled mac & cheese, Highland wagyu beef sliders, a range of Scottish cheeses, and the traditional Cranachan pudding. Speyside is famed for its whisky, and no doubt The Walmer Castle soon will be too. They’ll have a carefully selected list of over 400 whiskies available, both by the glass or in a cocktail, and die-hard whisky fans can even secure a personal cask to be stored in The Walmer’s cellar and enjoyed each time they visit. You no longer need that five-hour train ticket to the Scottish Highlands, just a quick trip over west and you’re there.
