THE UPPER PLACE TO OPEN IN HOLLOWAY

A new street food market is coming to London, opening above The Nags Head Market in Holloway. There’s been some back and forth about The Upper Place project as plans were initially rejected after residents voiced concerns about the opening hours, the capacity and potential drinking on site. It appears that the food court will now open with the people behind Tooting Broadway Market running the show.

The space has room for 17 traders, one of which will be siu mei specialists Three Uncles. Founded by three friends who grew up eating roast meats, the kiosk will serve up traditional Cantonese roast duck, crispy pork belly and char sui pork as well as Hainan chicken rice and lo mein noodles. Others include bakery Paneria, Colombian concept Maize Blaze, Dirty Bagels, Pasta Mood, Brazilian slow-cooked meats specialist The Smoketeers and Call Me Arancina.
